July, 20th, 1969 : The first steps on the Moon by Neil Armstrong. But is its sentence pronounced on the Moon correctly quoted ?
"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" is one of the most famous sentence of the history !
But unfortunately, and as often, it's not quoted necessarily correctly...
The American astronaut specified to his biographer that he hadn't completely said it, and that his sentence took all its sense only by adding "a" :
"That's one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind" !
The debate raged for years about this "a" which is "non-existent" for a lot of people.
But Neil Armstrong wanted that
